Why We Request Prescriptions

While we strive to make the ordering process as easy as possible, prescriptions are required for certain products due to:

• Manufacturer requirements: Some manufacturers mandate a prescription to ensure proper usage and patient safety.

• Federal and state law: Certain medical products are classified as prescription-only under regulatory guidelines.

You can submit an existing prescription — it does not have to be newly written. Many prescriptions are valid for “lifetime” or “99 months” and may be reused for continued therapy. If your prescription includes a set time frame or limited number of refills, our team can assist in determining its validity for your current order.

Who Can Write a Prescription?

Prescriptions must be issued by a licensed medical provider. Acceptable prescribers include:

• Medical Doctor (MD)

• Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

• Nurse Practitioner (NP)

• Physician Assistant (PA)

• Naturopathic Physician (ND)* (*as permitted by your state)

Each prescription must clearly include:

• Patient’s full name

• Prescribing provider’s full name and contact details

• Provider’s signature

Types of Products That May Require a Prescription

While not all items sold by Clara Care+ require a prescription, the following product categories often do:

• Diabetes supplies (e.g., continuous glucose monitors, lancets)

• Urological supplies

• Compression garments with high pressure ratings

• Needles and syringes

• Select wound dressings and advanced therapy devices

Special Note About Needles and Syringes

Although most U.S. states allow the purchase of needles and syringes without a prescription, it is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Clara Care+ reserves the right to cancel or hold any order for these items if it cannot be lawfully fulfilled without a prescription.

International Prescriptions

We accept valid international prescriptions. Please make sure:

• The patient’s full name is clearly written

• If the name is unclear, write your Clara Care+ order number on the prescription to prevent delays
